Amber's 12 Astrological Constellation Quilt

My 12 Astrological Constellation quilt is complete! I am so in love with the final, stunningly quilted, result that I had to share the finished quilt here. Jason Beck of Secret Stash Quilting quilted it, and worked with me to come up with the most amazing plan for quilting this beauty.

Pattern: 12 Constellation Block Bundle - 12 blocks then made into a 90" x 90" quilt top
Fabric: Kona Cotton Nautical (7-1/4 yards for background & binding)
a mix of yellow solid scraps for star fabric: 1/8 yd each Citrus, Mustard, Sprout, 7-1/4 yds fabric for backing

This quilt uses all twelve of the Constellation Blocks patterns. Before he began quilting, Jason took the time to research the classic constellation diagrams connecting the stars in each constellation. He then connected the star patchwork with contrasting gold thread.

The rest of the quilting is done with simple horizontal stripes in navy thread, so that it becomes part of the background. The full effect of the quilting is exactly what this quilt needed. So magical!

I can't wait to slumber under this star strewn quilt.
