Foxy Bonnet

An adorable animal dress-up hat - how am I supposed to be able to resist? Both the Wiksten Animal Bonnet pattern and the Andorra yarn from Kelbourne Woolens arrived in the store at approximately the same time, so I couldn't help thinking of them together! Plus, a baby hat is a perfect way to get to know a new yarn.

Animal Bonnet from Wiksten in Salmon Kelbourne Woolens Andorra

Pattern: Baby + Child Animal Bonnet by Wiksten
Materials: 1 skein Kelbourne Woolens Andorra in Salmon Pink
Size: 3-4 years

A small ball of Kelbourne Woolens Andorra in a salmony-pink color

The new Andorra yarn is lovely to work with. Its blend of 60% Merino, 20% Highland wool and 20% mohair gives it a slightly rustic feel without sacrificing softness.

All of the colors are dreamy, but the coral color of Salmon Pink was my favorite for a little fox hat! The pattern includes directions for a little lamb and a little fawn! The only difference is how you attach the ears to the bonnet.

Wiksten Animal Bonnet on wee Maggie

The pattern, like all Wiksten patterns, is simple to understand and very well executed! And with six different sizes from newborn to 5-6 year old, there is sure to be a little one in your life that needs a little woolly hat with ears for playing pretend!

Maggie in her Wiksten Animal Bonnet

How cute is Maggie?!? We were so glad when our wonderful knitting teacher Lizz dropped by today for embroidery supplies and agreed to an impromptu photo shoot!

So many adorable options, what will you transform the little one in your life into?
