Jaime's West Water Tunic and a Giveaway!

There's a blizzard here in Denver right now, but last week it was in the 70s and I decided to finally sew up the West Water Tunic that had been in my queue all winter. Hello Spring! Read through to see how you can win a copy of this pattern!

Pattern: West Water Tunic by Sam Lamb for Squam Art Workshops
Fabric: Hemp/Cotton Yarn Dyed ticking
Size Made: Small
Modifications: none

West Water Tunic is the first pattern from retreat guru Squam Art Workshops, designed by Sam Lamb. This tunic is the perfect piece to transition into Spring. It layers great over a shirt or under a cardigan. There are two versions—one with a split front that opens and one with a closed front and pockets. I chose to make the latter and it turned out great.

This fabric I used is one of my all-time favorite fabrics we carry. A dreamy, lightweight blend of hemp and cotton that is yarn dyed with thin stripes. This fabric comes in two wardrobe-friendly colors. This is my second garment in this fabric which is great, because I find I want to wear it all the time.

This tunic came together without any hitches. I love the adorable collar and gathered bodice. The arms and neck are neatly finished with bias binding. The button on the front is for decoration only and not needed to take the tunic off and on so I took a short cut and just sewed it on instead of making it a working button with a buttonhole. The pockets are perfect for your phone and lipgloss making this a functional go-to wardrobe staple. So so cute!
