Jennifer's Rasta Trefann Sweater

I have been coveting the fluffy, cozy knits by Tara-Lynn Morrison for a while now, and I love the simple fit, bell sleeves, and comfy-ness of the Trefann sweater. The classic design of the Trefann can easily be dressed up or down, but the bell sleeves and cropped fit modernize it and give it a sense of strength.

Materials: Malabrigo Rasta in color Amber (5 skeins)
Size Made: S/M
Modifications: I lengthened the arms a bit, but still wanted them cropped.

I chose the Malabrigo Rasta super bulky weight yarn because their color options are exquisite. I love neutrals and knew the Rasta in Amber dyed was going to pop even in its neutral tone. I wear turquoise everyday, and it complements my traditional jewelry perfectly. I also love that this yarn is fluffy and not at all heavy. It looks light even in photos, and it feels like I’m wearing a cloud.

I have extremely long arms and decided I needed a little more length, since the pattern has them significantly cropped. I also added another round of increases for bust, as the pattern gives you the option to adjust the size. The pattern encourages you to try the sweater on as you go, and helps you modify--which I especially appreciate because fit is everything to me!

On a personal note, I went through a season recently of having a difficult time and not seeing progress on my projects. The Trefann pulled me out of that rut as I made leaps and bounds of progress on this chunky knit. I would sit down and knit for 15 minutes, and would already have a few inches complete. It was rewarding and encouraging, and this knit really helped me get my groove back! Sometimes you just need some success to push you forward in your craft.
