Kelly's Onward Shawl

It is rare that I find myself falling in love with every single pattern within one knitting book, but "Journey" caught my eye the moment it hit our shelves and I've been captivated by it ever since! The patterns are inspired by the journey of self-discovery, independence and the path back to yourself.... what a perfect opportunity to knit something for yourself!

Yarn: 7 skeins Lark by Quince and Co. in Glacier - Available in store (pattern calls for 6 skeins, but I ended up needing a little extra)

The Onward shawl was an exciting yet simple project to take on as it repeats the same four sections, six times over. I chose to use the same yarn and colorway as used in the book sample because it was simply the perfect choice for this early Spring shawl project.

I personally love Quince and Co yarns, particularly Lark. It is 100% American wool... grown, spun and dyed in the USA. It's smooth yet durable 4-ply structure makes this worsted weight a classic and versatile staple in your yarn stash!

One of the best things about Onward is how the simple combination of just knits and purls can create such a gorgeous, striking pattern. The arrows create movement and drama with very little effort, and the construction is so straightforward you can knit most of this lovely piece without looking at your pattern. And guess what.... It's reversible!!! I truly admire the modern styling options of all Shannon Cook's patterns, and Onward is my new favorite wardrobe staple. It can be worn as a shawl, a neck wrap or simply a cozy piece of squishy goodness to snuggle up under with your favorite book and a cup of tea.
