Lauren's Nani Iro Uniform Tunic

It's officially summer weather here in Denver! I have finally started all of my warm weather dream projects, and this Uniform Tunic was first on the list. We have been getting in a ton of amazing Nani Iro fabrics recently, and I knew this double gauze had to find a way into my wardrobe. I love the hint of metallic sparkle. I decided to show off the stripes with a longer tunic, and my newest wardrobe favorite was born!

Pattern: Uniform Tunic by Grainline Studio
Size Made: 2
Modifications: Lowered armpits by 1.5"
Fabric: Nani Iro Grace Double Gauze

I decided to lower my armholes about an inch and a half because I typically have a bit of a tight fit there with other Grainline patterns. I kept everything else the same and evened out the sides during cutting. I'm really happy with the fit and now the tank is super comfortable!

The pattern is really great for a beginner and a fun way to practice pattern matching if your fabric calls for it. I love the construction with the separate piecing for the bottom half. There are so many ways to customize it with mix and match fabrics!

I've worn this tunic so many times since I've made it and I will definitely be making some warmer versions for the fall. The pockets in the front are so great and are the perfect size for phones, keys, or anything you might carry with you. It's a purse and a shirt in one!

Reminds me of the Merchant & Mills The Top #64, only with bigger pockets. I love my top 64 and have made several of them. Pockets rock and are one of the main reasons I sew. :^)
