Summertime Dream Team

Modifications: took out bust darts

It's no secret that Nani Iro is my favorite fabric designer. Each year when a new collection arrives it's a frenzy of sewing projects here at Fancy Tiger Crafts. I immediately cut this gorgeous painterly fabric in a beautiful coral-ly orange color. In order to get the print to have an ombre effect from top to bottom, I had to cut the tank out on the cross-grain.

Willow Tank is the newest pattern from Grainline Studio. Grainline patterns make some of my all time favorite staples including the Linden sweatshirt, Alder Shirtdress and Lark tee. Willow Tank will be added to this list. It is simple and quick to sew up (just two pieces and bias!). The instructions are top-notch if you are a beginner. I love the large hem on this pattern. The tank is fitted at the shoulders and then slightly flared on the bottom. It also comes in a dress version which I'm excited to try next.

The only modification I made was my usual small bust adjustment to take out the bust darts. For those of you who are bustier than I - you'll be pleased to know that this tank is meant to have bust darts. People - your summertime wardrobe is ready for the sewing!
