Linen is one of the best summer fibers. The moisture-wicking properties of linen allow you to stay cool and dry when the sun is beaming. I worked with linen for the first time creating my design, the Haute Mesh Xpress! Haute Mesh Xpress is a light and airy crochet wrap top made with Lino 100% linen from Fancy Tiger Crafts. I worked up my sample in the Lilac colorway, in a size 2XL. Linen has little-to-no elasticity, so the fact that the Haute Mesh Xpress is a wrap top allows you to comfortably adjust the fit to the curves of your body. This top is going to be well-loved over the summer, and I can see myself layering it in the cooler months. The Haute Mesh Xpress wrap top design is recipe style, based on your measurements, and it doesn’t take much yarn! My size 2XL sample required just under three 50g balls of Lino or 450m (492y). There are several ways to customize this pattern to fit your needs. You can make the straps and ties thick or thin. You can add an extra horizontal strap in the back to create a strappy look. You can also modify this top to be less open in the back. There is guidance within the pattern for making changes to the overall look of the top. The combination of linen and crochet mesh stitches make this a fun and summer- friendly crochet top!
